Behind the scenes of Good Housekeeping Mag

How amazing! When GH contacted me and asked if I’d like to take part in a Weightloss Success Story feature, I literally dropped the magazine. It was the weirdest thing ever…I was on the loo reading and old issue of GH with SJP on the cover when my phone alert pinged with a message from GH…I was like…uhhhhm hu…am I being watched through my phone lol😂
Anywhoooo…
I was just too excited because any platform to share my story and make a difference- I’m so in…and cherry on top- Good Housekeeping #goals❤❤
Loved every minute of the experience and working with warm hearts like fashion editor Cleo and edgy and professional Lesego and to have my make-up done by The Renee- Celeb makeup artist from Gorgeous2go was a dream come true.✨
When I saw the outfit they had picked for me, I was super nervous and said hell nooo- it was cropped and there was no way I was going to wear something showing off my stretchmarks and loose skin…unless of course we we’re doing a body-positivity shoot.
I was nervous thinking I have never trusted anyone to choose my clothes for me, touch my hair and face…it was one of those moments where I just had to let go of my controlling ways and have a little faith…I am surrounded by pros anyway.
Again, it came down to trusting the process…it’s been 2 years and I’m still learning to trust the process.💙
The shoot was a success…and I was just a sucker for stress and drama. I guess when you are so used to stress and anxiety as your ‘normal’, it’s hard to accept how simple life really is.💫
Look out for the Jan 2019 issue out next month!😍
